BUSTAMANTE

Amelia’s favorite past time was creating her quilts.  One of her projects was dedicated to Speaker of the House-Tip O’Neill.  Albert her son and Congressman from San Antonia presents Tip with a gift from the Bustamantes; AMELIA’S PRIDE!

According to Amelia when I interviewed her in 1992, Lupita seems to also like the craft of making quilts, truly an art form that takes organization, skill, creativity and time a lot of time.  This photo was taken at their home on Front St. Woodburn, Marion County, Oregon

Amelia was a positive, friendly and well known community elder.  She liked being in front of the camera.
